We can compare losing body fat to getting rich...
A lot of people play the lottery with the hope that they will instantly win big and get rich quick.
But most people wouldn't have the ability to manage a huge, instant sum of money well enough to keep it, which is why the majority of people who win the lottery end up losing most of it.
Keeping a vast sum of cash requires certain financial management skills that are only learnt from earning and saving that money, not winning it instantly.
Realistically, the chances of becoming an overnight millionaire and being able to hang on to all that cash are incredibly tiny.
Now imagine that instead of winning big overnight, you simply saved a little bit of money each day for 5 years. At the end of the 5 years, you would have saved a huge sum of money.
It wouldn't have been easy, and some weeks and months you might not have been able to save anything.
But eventually, you would have saved the amount you were aiming for, if you were consistent enough.
As well as having all this money saved up, you now have also learnt how to manage your finances effectively. From all the savings you've made, the loses, the profits along the way, you've learnt skills that are essential to keeping your cash and not wasting it.
Let's now shift this approach to fat loss...
If you take short cuts to losing body fat with 'quick fix' diets, meal replacement shakes and other fat loss gimmicks, you might very well get quick results.
But you would've learnt nothing about how you got them. You would've learnt nothing about nutrition, health or wellbeing that is essential if you want to maintain a healthy lifestyle and lean body.
So when it comes to sustaining those results, you would've learnt nothing about how to keep them either.
The chances that a quick fix fat loss promise will end up vanishing just as quick as it arrived.
Your habits and your lifestyle start taking you back down the road from which you came from and before you know it, you're looking for another quick fix again.
Whilst you've quickly achieved your goal, you've overlooked the processes needed for successful results.
The secret to long term fat loss and transformation lies within your habits.
Good nutrition and regular exercise is of course important, but if you don't address HOW you live your life, results won't last for very long.
A bit like saving a tiny bit of money every day to get rich, fat loss requires a tiny bit of effort each day to address your lifestyle.
If you're unhappy with how you look and feel, if you've become unhealthy and want to change, the reason is most likely your lifestyle; the habits you have and the choices you make.
Once you address these and make small steps to correct them, then you will be on track for getting lifelong results.
